Primary School

The Herrington Primary Programme builds a strong academic and moral foundation for learners aged 6 to 11 years, fostering confidence, curiosity, and bilingual communication skills through a rigorous yet balanced curriculum. By integrating the Cambridge Primary Curriculum (UK) with the MoEYS National Curriculum (Cambodia), Herrington ensures that every student achieves international academic standards while staying deeply connected to their Khmer heritage and values.

At this stage, learning shifts from play-based discovery to structured, inquiry-driven study. Students begin to think independently, communicate effectively, and collaborate meaningfully developing essential skills for lifelong success.

Cambridge Primary + MoEYS National Curriculum

Herrington’s Primary School offers a dual academic pathway that aligns the best of Cambridge and MoEYS standards within an integrated bilingual framework.

Children build strong foundations through subjects such as English, Mathematics, Science, Reading, ICT, Art, Global Perspectives, Physical Education, and Khmer Language. With hands-on learning, integrated technology, and inquiry-based activities, students develop critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, digital literacy, and cultural pride. Our curriculum ensures every child grows confidently as a capable, curious, and well-rounded learner prepared for the future.

Our Subject Programme

Students develop strong communication skills through reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Lessons encourage creativity, clear expression, and confidence in using English in both daily life and academics.

Students learn to read, write, and speak Khmer, strengthening their cultural identity and national pride. Khmer lessons ensure children grow as bilingual, confident communicators. Our Khmer program follows the Cambodia International Curriculum (MoEYS), providing students with a strong foundation in national standards while supporting their global learning journey.

Learners build problem-solving skills and number fluency through hands-on activities, real-life examples, and logical reasoning. Students are guided to truly understand concepts, not just memorize them.

Children explore the world through experiments, observations, and inquiry-based learning. They learn to think like young scientists—asking questions, testing ideas, and discovering how things work.

Art lessons spark creativity and imagination while encouraging students to express themselves through colors, shapes, and various materials. Children build confidence in their artistic abilities.

Students discover a love for reading through stories, phonics, and comprehension activities. Reading lessons strengthen vocabulary, imagination, and critical thinking, helping children become fluent readers.

Kids learn essential digital skills, from basic computer use to simple coding and research. They are also taught how to use technology safely, responsibly, and creatively.

Students explore different cultures, global issues, and diverse viewpoints. The subject builds teamwork, research skills, and open-mindedness, helping children understand the world around them.

PE helps students stay active, healthy, and confident. Through sports and movement, they develop fitness, coordination, teamwork, and a positive attitude toward physical activity.
