Background
World Vision engages community volunteers as essential partners in
improving the lives of children and families at the local level.
These volunteers are selected from their own communities and play a
key role in supporting program activities, promoting awareness on
child protection, health, and education, and building strong
connections between World Vision and the people we serve. Their
involvement helps ensure that development efforts are locally owned,
sustainable, and responsive to the real needs of the community.
Purpose of Position
The Community Volunteer plays a supportive role in assisting World Vision’s
field teams with implementing development and advocacy activities. The
position exists to strengthen community participation, monitor children’s
well-being, and help ensure that project goals are achieved through local
engagement and ownership.
Key Responsibilities

Support awareness campaigns and training sessions related to child
protection, health, and education -
Assist with collecting basic data and reporting on children’s status
in the community -
Help mobilize community members to participate in program activities
and meetings - Monitor and report any child protection concerns to the appropriate staff
- Act as a role model and advocate for children’s rights and well-being

Build relationships with families and local leaders to encourage
community involvement - Participate in regular meetings and trainings provided by World Vision.
Knowledge & Skill

Basic understanding of child protection, health, and education issues in the
local context protection, health, and education -
Good communication skills and the ability to engage with children, families,
and community members -
Commitment to volunteerism and a passion for helping others, especially
vulnerable children -
Ability to work respectfully and collaboratively with diverse groups,
including local leaders and partners -
Willingness to learn and participate in trainings and meetings
organized by World Vision - Basic reading and writing skills for record-keeping and simple reporting

Trustworthy, responsible, and committed to promoting child safety
and community development
Experience
- Prior experience in community activities or volunteer work is an advantage
- Experience working with children, youth, or vulnerable groups is preferred
- Familiarity with local issues and community dynamics

Experience supporting awareness campaigns, trainings, or group meetings
is helpful -
Previous involvement with NGOs, community-based organizations, or faith
groups is beneficial but not required
