BUILDING RESILIENCE TO CLIMATE CHANGE
FACING CLIMATE THREATS WITH STRENGTH
World Vision teams have observed increasingly severe and complex weather patterns over decades, including floods, droughts, and storms that heighten children’s vulnerability and weaken families’ ability to recover. The Mekong lowlands in eastern Cambodia have been identified as the most climate-vulnerable region. To address this, World Vision has implemented three key approaches to strengthen disaster management, ensuring adaptability to more frequent, prolonged, and intense disasters occurring on a larger scale.
OUR APPROACH
PARTNERSHIPS FOR RESPONSE EFFECTIVENESS
World Vision will expand partnerships with INGOs, UN agencies, and peer organizations
to improve disaster preparedness and emergency response coordination,
including leading network groups in Cambodia.
REDUCING RISKS, SAVING LIVES
INTEGRATED APPROACHES TO DISASTER
RISK REDUCTION
Since 2017, World Vision has integrated disaster risk reduction into project planning through
standardized portfolio designs and continues to evaluate effective methods for risk reduction
and preparedness.
STRENGTHENED DISASTER MANAGEMENT FUNCTION
We will manage organizational surge capacity ensuring that the national team has the ability to rapidly mobilize to meet increased demand in the large-scale disasters and emergency response.
